Crafts at the Cathedral 2017

We are delighted to announce that after a year off, the 21st annual Crafts at the Cathedral will take place within the nave of the Cathedral of Saint John the Divine Thursday November 30 through Saturday December 2, 2017. The response to our 20th annual show in 2015 was overwhelming. We were then forced to put the show on hiatus for a year because of the unavailability of the show’s venue, Synod Hall. Given the growing support the show has enjoyed from shoppers throughout the tri-state area, it was frustrating to take a year off. We are delighted to now plan for a larger show right within the cathedral itself!

Culture and arts, coming from a religious incentive or not, are often featured in homework assignments. Have you ever been tasked with an architectural safety vs beauty problem-solving task? It’s hard. And you can pay someone, like MyAssignmentLab expert, to get such tasks done. A simple “do my assignment” request online will bring top minds to your service.

Why Crafts IN the Cathedral?

In medieval Europe, the Cathedral served as the center of not just religious life in a town, but often the civic and commercial life, too. Guilds met, degrees were bestowed, craftsmen sought employment, and commerce was conducted in the naves of many great Cathedrals. Wine merchants in 12th century Chartres and numerous other cities cleverly escaped local taxes by selling their wares from within the walls of the city's Cathedral. Some Cathedrals even had different sections of their naves set aside for different types of merchants — textiles in one corner, food in another, etc. The Cathedral Church at St. John the Divine is honoring that tradition…..
